DOUG WALKER

Doug entered into the Shrine in 1979 and joined the Hi-Ro Shrine Club of St, Thomas. There he became involved with an idea for a new Parade unit. Cliff Inch, Bob Stoker and Steve Traichevich thought a unit of Volkswagens of the 60's and 70's vintage would be a novel idea. After receiving permission from Walt Disney Productions they became the Love Bugs from the Disney movie "Herbie the Love Bug". Their first parade was in 1980 and Doug is the last remaining active driver. Of note, Past President Harold Fowler has held the difficult position of treasurer for many years.

Doug Walker is a member of the Hi-Ro Shrine Club as well as the Aylmer Shrine Club. He has served as President of the Love Bugs and has been Parade Chairman and Co-ordinator for the past 15 years. We often overlook his tireless efforts of having the Bugs available and present for the parades. Be assured, however, his work is greatly appreciated by the Nobles.

Doug is a salesman for Talbot Ford Lincoln in St. Thomas. The Love Bugs are a family affair with Doug. His son, his son's grandfather and two uncles are also Love Bug owners actively involved.
